Santa Ana, CA – Injuries Reported After Crash Between Mazda and Ford Truck on I-5 Near Grand Ave
Santa Ana, CA (April 17, 2025) – A two-vehicle crash involving a Mazda 3 and a gray Ford truck led to injuries and lane closures on I-5 South at Grand Avenue Thursday evening, April 17. The accident happened around 5:04 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). Witnesses at the scene reported that the Mazda was blocking multiple middle lanes while the Ford truck came to rest on the right-hand shoulder. Initial damage assessments indicated front-end damage to the Mazda. Emergency personnel from the Freeway Service Patrol and CHP arrived on the scene and provided first aid to the injured party. The injured individual was later transported to a nearby medical center for additional treatment. The Ford truck, initially stuck in a general-purpose (GP) lane, was later moved with the help of a tow truck. The CHP has initiated an investigation into the cause of the accident.
