Santa Ana, CA – Injuries Reported After High-Speed Crash on I-5 N/17th St.
Santa Ana, CA (April 13, 2025) – A high-impact crash involving a blue sports car and a semi-truck occurred on the morning of April 12 along Interstate 5 north near 17th Street in Santa Ana, leaving one person injured and vehicles heavily damaged. The collision happened just after 7:00 a.m. when a blue Subaru sports vehicle reportedly struck a big rig, spun out of control, and hit the guardrail. California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers found the sports car facing the wrong direction against the barrier on the off-ramp, while the semi-truck had pulled to the right-hand shoulder just south of Main Street.
Firefighters and paramedics responded to the crash site. One person from the sports vehicle appeared to need medical attention and was assessed on-site before being transported to a nearby hospital. The semi-truck driver did not sustain any injuries, and fire services confirmed they did not need to respond further. The CHP is currently reviewing the cause of the incident.
