Santa Ana, CA – Injuries Reported in Two-Vehicle Accident on I-5 S at 1st St

Santa Ana, CA  (July 2, 2023) – A two-vehicle accident occurred on the southbound lanes of I-5 at the intersection of 1st St in Santa Ana, California. The collision involved a total of three vehicles, completely blocking the middle lanes. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) arrived at the scene to assess the situation.

The CHP units on-site indicated that the accident resulted in significant injuries and property damage. A Nissan sedan with severe front-end damage required an additional tow truck for removal.

Paramedics were also called, as one party involved in the accident was found outside the vehicle on the ground. An ambulance was dispatched to attend to the injured individual. That person was transported to the local hospital for further evaluation and care. The severity of the injuries remains uncertain at this time.
