Santa Ana, CA (January 28, 2026) – A multi-vehicle traffic collision involving a motorcycle and two additional vehicles occurred on Wednesday on I-5 northbound at the State Route 57 HOV flyover in Santa Ana, resulting in minor injuries. According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash involved a gray RAM pickup truck, a black Chevrolet Volt, and a Honda Civic motorcycle. The collision was reported in the northbound HOV lanes, where traffic was partially blocked as first responders worked to manage the scene.
CHP officers temporarily blocked lanes one and two to assist the motorcyclist, who was found upright and alert in the center divider. The rider was carefully moved to the right shoulder for safety while paramedics evaluated injuries at the scene. An ambulance was dispatched, and at least one individual received medical assessment before transport decisions were made. Several other vehicles were observed pulled over on the shoulder, and a tow truck was requested to remove the damaged motorcycle.
Freeway Service Patrol and CHP coordinated traffic control as crews worked to reopen lanes. Authorities have not released additional details regarding the cause of the crash, and the investigation remains ongoing.
We hope those injured are able to recover fully.
