Santa Ana, CA – Motorcycle Rider Injured in Truck Collision on I-5 S at Sand Canyon

Santa Ana, CA (April 22, 2025) – A motorcycle rider sustained injuries in a serious crash involving a truck on the southbound lanes of Interstate 5, near Sand Canyon Avenue, on the morning of April 22. California Highway Patrol officials responded to the scene around 10:00 a.m. after reports of a crash involving a large pickup truck and a motorcycle. The rider was reportedly struck by the truck during a lane change maneuver, causing them to fall onto the pavement. Upon arrival, CHP officers and Orange County paramedics provided immediate medical attention to the rider, who appeared to suffer injuries to the upper body and legs. The individual was then transported by ambulance to a local hospital for advanced treatment. The truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
