Santa Ana, CA – Motorcyclist Injured in Collision on I-5 N Near Main St.

Santa Ana, CA (April 18, 2025) – A motorcyclist was injured Friday afternoon, April 18, following a collision involving a motorcycle and a black sedan along Interstate 5 North near Main Street in Santa Ana. The California Highway Patrol received reports of the crash shortly after 2:00 p.m. and dispatched emergency crews from the Orange County division. Upon arrival, officers found a motorcycle down in the right lanes, with the rider reportedly thrown from the vehicle.

The black sedan involved was parked on the right shoulder, showing signs of front-end damage. Eyewitnesses stated that the motorcyclist may have been sideswiped while attempting to change lanes. Paramedics treated the motorcyclist at the scene before transporting them to a nearby hospital. The extent of their injuries has not yet been disclosed, though they were reported to be conscious during transport. CHP is investigating the incident and will determine whether speed or driver error played a role.
