Santa Clarita, CA – Pedestrian Struck by Big Rig on SB I-5 Near SR-14
Santa Clarita, CA (March 5, 2025) – A pedestrian was struck by a big rig Wednesday afternoon on southbound I-5 near the SR-14 connector, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The crash was first reported at 2:57 p.m., with witnesses stating that a male exited a silver SUV on the right shoulder and ran into traffic, where he was hit by a semi-truck in the slow lane. The big rig driver immediately pulled over, and the pedestrian was found lying on the right shoulder.
Emergency responders, including the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) and Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACOFD), arrived at the scene and began CPR while CHP stopped all southbound traffic to allow emergency access. The condition of the pedestrian has not been confirmed, and CHP is continuing its investigation into the circumstances of the crash.
