Seattle, WA – Three Injured in Multi-Car Crash on SB I-5 Near Mercer St

Seattle, WA (February 21, 2025) – A multi-vehicle collision on southbound Interstate 5, near Mercer Street left three people injured on Friday morning, February 21, according to Washington State Patrol (WSP). The crash involved four vehicles, including a King County Metro Vanpool vehicle carrying five passengers. Trooper Rick Johnson confirmed that injuries were reported, but it was unclear which occupants were hurt. Paramedics transported the injured to a medical facility for treatment and care. Following the collision, all southbound lanes were temporarily shut down before crews worked to clear the scene. The cause of the crash remains under police investigation.
