Stanwood, WA – Fatal Collision on I-5 Involving Racing Vehicles and Semi-Truck
Stanwood, WA (January 23, 2025) – A tragic accident occurred on Saturday, January 20, around 1 p.m. on the northbound lanes of I-5, just north of the Stanwood exit (SR 532). According to the Washington State Patrol (WSP), a silver 2012 Infiniti G37 sedan lost control while attempting to pass traffic on the left shoulder.
The car veered across all lanes of traffic and collided with the trailer of a white 2020 Kenworth T680 semi-truck. Witnesses reported that the Infiniti was racing a green 2021 Dodge Challenger moments before the collision. Tragically, the driver of the Infiniti succumbed to their injuries at the scene. The driver of the semi-truck was unharmed. Authorities are investigating the involvement of reckless driving and racing as the primary causes of the crash.
