Stockton, CA – Fatal Pedestrian Accident on I-5 Near Pershing Ave 

Stockton, CA (November 27, 2024) – A tragic pedestrian accident occurred on I-5 near Pershing Avenue early Wednesday morning, November 27, leaving one person dead.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) confirmed that the incident happened around 3 a.m. when a vehicle struck a pedestrian in the roadway. CHP officers responded to the scene and temporarily shut down the freeway to conduct their investigation. While the investigation was ongoing, a separate vehicle breached the closure and collided with a CHP patrol car. Thankfully, no officers were injured in this secondary collision. The driver involved in the initial accident was unharmed, but authorities have not disclosed whether the second driver sustained injuries. The identity of the pedestrian has not been released pending notification of their family. The CHP continues to investigate the circumstances of both incidents.
