Stockton, CA – Fatality Reported in Fiery Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-5 N at Walnut Grove Rd Offramp

Stockton, CA (June 30, 2023) – A tragic accident occurred on the morning of June 30th, resulting in a fatality in Stockton, California. The incident occurred on I-5 North at the Walnut Grove Road offramp in District 10.

At around 4:05 AM, emergency services were alerted, and the California Highway Patrol (CHP) arrived at the scene at 4:09 AM. The first responders found a devastating scene involving multiple vehicles, including a big rig truck and a sedan.

According to initial reports, the collision involved a semi-truck and a sedan. The sedan apparently caught fire and burned completely up. Sadly, the driver of the sedan did not survive the crash. The CHP confirmed that the victim was deceased upon their arrival.

Firefighters and additional emergency services were dispatched to the scene to provide assistance. The fire department remained on standby until the area was clear. The towing company required a flatbed tow truck to remove the burnt wreckage from the right-hand shoulder.

The investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the collision and gather further details.
