Stockton, CA – Two-Vehicle Crash on I-5 Causes Injuries Near Downing Ave Offramp

Stockton, CA (December 17, 2024) – A two-vehicle collision was reported Tuesday morning, December 17, on I-5 northbound near the Downing Avenue offramp, leaving at least one person injured. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) received the report around 8:22 a.m. and promptly dispatched officers and paramedics to the scene.  Paramedics treated one individual on-site for non-life-threatening injuries, while others were evaluated for possible harm. Both vehicles sustained significant damage, with debris temporarily blocking one lane of the interstate. CHP officers worked swiftly to clear the roadway and reopen all lanes within two hours, minimizing delays for other motorists. Investigators are currently reviewing eyewitness accounts and dashcam footage to determine the sequence of events leading to the crash.
