Tacoma, WA – Injury Hit-and-Run on I-5 N near Tacoma Dome
Tacoma, WA (January 31, 2026) – A hit-and-run crash left at least one person injured on Interstate 5 North near the Tacoma Dome, according to dispatch audio from the Washington State Patrol.
Troopers received reports of the crash around 3:57 p.m. on Wednesday, January 28. The collision occurred on northbound I-5 near the East D Street area in Tacoma. Dispatch information indicated a white pickup truck was involved in the crash.
According to the broadcast, the pickup truck suffered front-end damage during the collision. After the impact, the driver reportedly fled the scene at high speed. Emergency responders were sent to assist the injured victim.
Officials have not released details about how many vehicles were involved or the extent of the injuries. Troopers continue working to identify the fleeing driver and determine what led up to the crash.
