Tehama County, CA – Tragic Two-Car Crash Claims 5 Lives and Leaves 1 Seriously Injured on I-5 Near Corning

Tehama County, CA (July 29, 2023) – A devastating two-car crash on Interstate 5, just south of Liberal Avenue near Corning, resulted in the loss of five lives and left one individual with severe injuries, according to the latest update from CHP.

The tragic incident occurred on July 29th around 12:44 P.M. when a northbound car inexplicably crossed the center divide and collided with a truck towing a travel trailer.

Regrettably, all three passengers and the driver of the car were ejected from the vehicle and died from their injuries. Additionally, the driver of the truck also lost their life, further compounding the tragedy. The sole passenger of the truck sustained major injuries and was rushed to the hospital for urgent medical attention.

Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident to determine the factors that led to this devastating collision.
