Walnut Grove, CA – Fatal Sedan and Big Rig Wreck on I-5 N near Twin Cities Rd

Walnut Grove, CA (January 21, 2025) – A devastating crash Tuesday morning, January 21 on I-5 North near Twin Cities Road resulted in one fatality. The accident occurred when a sedan collided with a parked big rig loaded with food products on the right-hand shoulder, according to the Walnut Grove Fire District. The collision caused both the sedan and the trailer to catch fire, engulfing them in flames. Emergency medical services arrived at 8:31 a.m. and pronounced the sedan driver deceased at the scene. The driver of the big rig sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was treated on the scene.

Crews spent several hours extinguishing the fire and clearing the roadway of debris. The identity of the victim has not yet been released, and investigators are working to determine the events leading to the crash.
