Willows, CA – Driver Injured in Head-On Collision on I-5 S of County Rd 33

Willows, CA (December 19, 2024) – A serious head-on collision occurred in the early hours of December 19 on I-5, south of County Road 33. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that the crash involved a Chevrolet and a Freightliner truck, resulting in injuries to one driver. At around 12:26 a.m., Benjamin Garcia of Willows was driving northbound on I-5 when his vehicle crossed the median and collided head-on with a southbound Freightliner driven by Jagjeet Singh of Tracy. The impact of the crash spread oil and debris across the highway, creating hazardous conditions for other motorists. Emergency responders arrived promptly and provided on-site first aid to Garcia, who sustained injuries from the collision. He was later transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Singh was reported to have escaped without serious harm. CHP officials are investigating the circumstances that led to the crash.
