Yreka, CA – Big Rig Collision on I-5 Leads to Fire and Injuries

Yreka, CA (February 17, 2025) – A serious accident involving a big rig and another unidentified vehicle occurred on the early morning of February 15 on southbound Interstate 5 near Yreka. The crash, which took place around 4:06 a.m., resulted in the big rig spinning out and partially blocking the No. 2 lane. According to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), there were injuries in the accident.

Emergency responders, including the California Highway Patrol (CHP) and Caltrans personnel, assessed the situation and assisted those involved. Moments later, reports indicated that the crash had led to a vehicle fire, further complicating efforts to clear the wreckage. Authorities worked to contain the situation while paramedics evaluated the injured. The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
