Bakersfield, CA – Motorcyclist Involved in Fatal Crash on I-5/Grapevine Rd.

Bakersfield, CA (October 6, 2025) – Authorities responded to reports of a motorcyclist who lost his life in a tragic two-vehicle collision on I-5 near Grapevine Road on Sunday morning, October 6. The Kern County Coroner’s Office confirmed the victim as 41-year-old Angel Barraza Garcia of Paramount, California. The crash was reported around 11:30 a.m. when Garcia’s motorcycle collided with another vehicle in the southbound lanes of I-5. California Highway Patrol officers and Kern County Fire Department crews responded to the scene, where they found Garcia critically injured. He was transported to Kern Medical Center but was later pronounced dead. The driver of the other vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the CHP.
