Capistrano, CA – Santa Ana Freeway Crash near El Camino Real Ends in Injuries

Capistrano, CA (February 13, 2023) – At 12:45 a.m., on February 12, authorities were notified that a motor vehicle accident took place on Interstate 5, the Santa Ana Freeway.

Reports provided by the California Highway Patrol indicate that a collision between vehicles blocked the travel lanes on 5 North in the area near El Camino Real. One vehicle involved in the crash fled the scene.

CHP and firefighters blocked off the roadway to care for those who were harmed.

The injured victims received medical treatment while at the scene. The victims who required further treatment were then transported by ambulance to area medical facilities for further attention.

The crash remains under investigation.
