Jackson County, OR (January 26, 2026) – A fatal multi-vehicle crash occurred on Sunday, January 25, on Interstate 5 near milepost 46 in Jackson County, resulting in the death of a Medford woman. According to the Oregon State Police, the collision happened during the early morning hours when traffic was light but moving at highway speeds.
Authorities identified the victim as Ana Azuchena Villa-Rodriguez, 31, of Medford. Investigators reported that Villa-Rodriguez was driving a Nissan Altima and attempted a U-turn on the interstate near milepost 46. During the maneuver, her vehicle was struck by a Dodge Ram 2500 operated by Kenneth George Brito, 50, of Grants Pass.
The impact caused severe damage to the Nissan. Villa-Rodriguez sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding officials. Brito was not reported to have been injured in the crash. Oregon State Police remained on scene for several hours to document evidence, assess vehicle positions, and reconstruct the events leading up to the collision.
The Oregon Department of Transportation assisted with traffic control, and the Rogue River Fire Department provided scene support.
