Lakewood, WA – Pickup Driver Killed in Fatal Crash on I-5 NB at Bridgeport Way SW
Lakewood, WA (February 7, 2026) – A fatal crash on Interstate 5 northbound in Lakewood claimed the life of a pickup truck driver on Friday, February 6.
Washington State Patrol said the crash happened around 4:10 p.m. near Bridgeport Way SW. A Chevy Avalanche was traveling northbound on I-5 when it collided with a semi-truck. After the impact, the pickup caught fire along the roadway.
Emergency crews arrived to find the pickup driver trapped inside the vehicle. Despite response efforts, the driver died at the scene. Firefighters worked to control the fire while law enforcement secured the area.
The semi-truck driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
