Los Angeles, CA – Car and Big Rig Collide on I-5 S/Washington Blvd Off-Ramp

Los Angeles, CA (October 2, 2025) – A collision between a black passenger vehicle and a big rig on the I-5 southbound off-ramp at Washington Boulevard resulted in reported injuries on October 2.

CHP officers confirmed that the smaller vehicle sustained heavy rear-end damage after making contact with the right side of the commercial truck. The impact pushed the car partially into the shoulder, leaving its driver trapped until firefighters arrived with extraction tools. Medics stabilized the driver and transported them to a nearby trauma center with moderate but non-life-threatening injuries. The truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated fully with authorities.

Commercial vehicle inspectors were called to determine the underlying cause of the crash. The ramp remained partially closed for nearly an hour while diesel fuel was cleared from the roadway.
