Los Angeles, CA – Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-5/Griffith Park Injures Several
Los Angeles, CA (January 18, 2026) – A deadly multi-vehicle crash on I-5 northbound near Griffith Park claimed the life of a 25-year-old man on Sunday, January 18, and left five others injured, according to the California Highway Patrol. The collision occurred around 3:18 a.m. near the Los Feliz Boulevard off-ramp.
Authorities reported that five vehicles were involved in the crash, causing significant damage and blocking portions of the freeway.
Investigators said the 25-year-old victim was ejected from his vehicle during the impact and was pronounced deceased at the scene by Los Angeles Fire Department personnel. Five additional men sustained injuries in the crash. A 61-year-old man, a 35-year-old man, and two 22-year-old men were assessed at the scene before being transported to area hospitals in fair condition.
A 28-year-old man was taken to a nearby medical facility with serious injuries for further treatment.
California Highway Patrol officers secured the scene and temporarily closed multiple northbound lanes while crews documented the crash and removed damaged vehicles. Traffic was diverted for several hours as investigators worked to determine the events that led up to the collision.
