Pacoima, CA – Fatal Semi-Truck Crash on I-5/Osbourne St.

Pacoima, CA (December 21, 2025) – One person was killed on Sunday, December 21,  following a fiery crash involving a semi-truck on Interstate 5 in the Pacoima area of Los Angeles, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The fatal collision occurred around 3:45 a.m. in the northbound lanes near Osbourne Street. CHP officials reported that a passenger vehicle and a semi-truck collided under circumstances that remain under investigation.

Following the impact, at least one of the vehicles caught fire, creating a dangerous and chaotic scene on the freeway. Emergency crews worked quickly to control the flames and secure the area. One individual was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet confirmed whether the victim was inside the passenger vehicle or the semi-truck. No additional injuries have been reported at this time.

Northbound lanes were partially closed for several hours as investigators documented evidence and cleared debris. The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
