Sacramento, CA – Two-Vehicle Crash on I-5 S Near J St.

Sacramento, CA (January 25, 2026) – A two-vehicle collision on Interstate 5 southbound near J Street resulted in injuries and a vehicle leaving the roadway on Sunday, January 25, according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash occurred near the Jibboom Street area adjacent to several hotels, including Motel 6 and the Holiday Inn.

CHP reports indicate that a white Chevrolet Suburban and a white SUV were involved in the initial collision. Officers arrived to find one vehicle on its passenger side and another lodged off the roadway, creating concern for occupant safety. At least one individual was unable to exit their vehicle and required assistance. Injuries were reported, prompting CHP to request an ambulance.

The injured party was evaluated at the scene and received medical attention, with transport arranged based on reported pain and mobility concerns.
