San Diego, CA – Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-5/Gilman Dr Leaves Injuries

San Diego, CA (July 27, 2025) – A two-vehicle crash on northbound Interstate 5 just south of Gilman Drive left one individual injured on Sunday evening, July 27. The crash, reported around 5:57 p.m., involved a black Kia that veered off the road and landed in a ditch and a red Mini Cooper that remained on the right shoulder. One of the vehicle’s occupants sustained injuries, according to reports from the California Highway Patrol.

Emergency responders from the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department arrived at the scene and assisted the victims. No major injuries were reported, but those involved received medical evaluations on-site. Tow trucks were dispatched to recover the Kia from the embankment. The cause of the crash remains under investigation by local authorities.
