Santa Ana, CA – Three-Vehicle Crash on I-5 N/SR-22 Leaves Injuries
Santa Ana, CA (January 22, 2026) – A three-vehicle collision with reported injuries occurred on Tuesday, January 21, along I-5 northbound at State Route 22 in Santa Ana, according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash involved a white Honda Pilot, a Toyota Camry, and a commercial truck and occurred near the center divider. CHP officers reported that at least one vehicle, the Toyota Camry, sustained major rear-end damage and required towing.
Fire personnel responded and assisted with traffic control and scene safety. Several individuals were assessed on-site for injuries. One party was later transported to a nearby hospital as a precaution. Vehicles were eventually moved to the right shoulder, and tow services cleared the roadway after extended delays. Traffic was diverted to alternate routes while crews completed the cleanup. CHP continues to review the circumstances leading up to the collision.
