Santa Fe Springs, CA – Driver Injured After Crash on I-5 at Rosecrans Ave.

Santa Fe Springs, CA (August 31, 2025) – On Sunday evening, August 31, a multi-vehicle collision on the southbound Interstate 5 near Rosecrans Avenue left one driver trapped inside their car. The crash involved a black Lexus and at least one additional vehicle, partially blocking the first and second lanes when authorities arrived. The California Highway Patrol responded to the scene just before 6:00 p.m. and confirmed that one driver was unable to exit their vehicle without assistance.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department arrived promptly and worked to free the trapped motorist while paramedics assessed the injured at the scene. At least one ambulance was requested for patient transport. Investigators have not yet released details on what caused the accident or the extent of injuries suffered.

Authorities continue to look into whether speed or driver error contributed to the collision.
