Altadena, CA – Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-5 S/Branford St Causes Injuries

Altadena, CA (December 24, 2025) – A major multi-vehicle crash on I-5 southbound near Branford Street left several people injured on Tuesday, December 23, according to the California Highway Patrol. Initial reports described a five-vehicle collision involving multiple sedans and SUVs, including a gray Lexus and a black SUV. The crash blocked several lanes, including the HOV lane, causing heavy congestion. CHP later upgraded the incident status after determining that injuries were involved, prompting ambulance response. Victims were evaluated at the scene, and at least one individual was transported to a nearby hospital for additional medical care. Others received on-site assistance for minor injuries.

Freeway Service Patrol worked alongside CHP officers to move damaged vehicles to the right shoulder and restore traffic flow. By the end of the response, all lanes were reopened. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash and have not released further details.
