Altadena, CA – Transit Van Crash on I-5 S, Driver Injured

Altadena, CA (August 9, 2025) – A white transit van veered off Interstate 5 South at the Colorado Street off-ramp in Altadena on August 9 and collided with another unidentified vehicle, leaving the driver injured. The incident occurred around 2:18 p.m., drawing the attention of the California Highway Patrol and local paramedics. The impact caused extensive damage to the front of the van and left the driver trapped inside. Firefighters worked quickly to extricate the injured motorist, who was then transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The CHP temporarily closed the off-ramp to allow emergency responders to work safely and to clear debris from the area.
