Burbank, CA – Fatal Wrong-Way Crash on I-5 at Alameda Ave.
Burbank, CA (October 19, 2025) – A deadly wrong-way crash shut down all northbound lanes of Interstate 5 in Burbank on Sunday, October 19. California Highway Patrol officers responded to calls around 3:45 a.m. after multiple vehicles collided near Alameda Avenue. Investigators reported that a wrong-way driver triggered the chain-reaction crash, though the total number of vehicles involved has not yet been released.
Tragically, at least one person was pronounced dead at the scene. Three additional victims were transported to a nearby hospital in unknown condition. Authorities closed the northbound lanes of I-5 for several hours as investigators worked to determine if alcohol or drugs contributed to the crash. Crews later removed the vehicles and reopened the freeway.
