Buttonwillow, CA – Two-Vehicle Crash on I-5 S/SR-46 Off-Ramp, Injuries Reported

Buttonwillow, CA (December 31, 2025) – A road rage incident on I-5 southbound at the SR-46 off-ramp resulted in a two-vehicle collision and injuries on Tuesday afternoon, December 30. California Highway Patrol officers reported a Ford Super Duty pickup truck weaving unsafely between lanes collided with a white Dodge Ram truck pulling a trailer. Both vehicles ended up on the right-hand shoulder, with debris partially blocking lane one.

Officers confirmed that the drivers were involved in a verbal altercation before the collision occurred. Paramedics evaluated injuries at the scene, and at least one party was transported to a nearby hospital for medical care. Tow trucks were dispatched to remove the damaged vehicles and restore traffic flow. CHP continues to investigate the incident to determine contributing factors and possible citations.
