Orange Co., CA – Traffic Crash on I-5 S/Alicia Pkwy Off-Ramp, Injuries Reported
Orange County, CA (December 31, 2025) – A two-vehicle crash on southbound I-5 at the Alicia Parkway off-ramp left multiple people with injuries on Wednesday afternoon, December 30, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The collision occurred when a blue Toyota Celica swerved to avoid a mattress that had fallen onto the freeway, striking the center divider wall and crossing multiple lanes. A second vehicle, a black sedan, was also involved after attempting to avoid the obstruction.
CHP and Freeway Service Patrol crews quickly responded, assisting victims and clearing the roadway. While some parties declined medical transport, at least one person was assessed on-site for injuries. Tow trucks were deployed to remove the damaged vehicles and debris from the lanes. Authorities have not released specific details regarding the severity of the injuries, but continue to investigate the circumstances leading to the crash.
