Capistrano, CA – Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-5 S/Junipero Serra Rd. Leaves Injuries

Capistrano, CA (August 23, 2025) – A multi-vehicle crash on the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 near Junipero Serra Road left several people injured on Saturday morning, August 23. The accident was reported at approximately 8:26 a.m. and involved a silver sedan, a gray truck, and possibly a third vehicle, according to the California Highway Patrol. Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene and assisted the injured.

At least two people were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries, while others were evaluated at the site. Authorities believe a tire blowout may have contributed to the crash. Traffic was diverted temporarily at Ortega Highway as CHP units worked to clear the roadway. An official investigation is ongoing.
