Coalinga, CA – Injury Crash on I-5 N/Derrick Ave Off-Ramp
Coalinga, CA (January 8, 2026) – A two-vehicle collision with reported injuries occurred late Tuesday night, January 7, on I-5 northbound at the Derrick Avenue off-ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash involved a black Ford Focus and a sedan of unknown color. CHP officers arrived around 11:53 p.m. and found one vehicle overturned near the ramp.
Witnesses reported that several individuals exited the vehicles and were seen walking along the shoulder shortly after the crash. One male was heard yelling that he was unable to exit the vehicle, prompting emergency medical services to respond. Paramedics evaluated those involved, and one individual received medical attention on scene before being transported to a medical facility as a precaution.
CHP later confirmed the incident involved non-life-threatening injuries. Traffic hazards were mitigated, and a tow truck was dispatched to recover the overturned vehicle.
