Downey, CA – Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-5/Lakewood Blvd Leaves Two Dead

Downey, CA (November 27, 2025) – A tragic multi-vehicle collision on the I-5 Freeway in Downey late Wednesday night, November 27, left two people dead. The California Highway Patrol reported the crash around 11:37 p.m. near the Lakewood Boulevard off-ramp on the southbound side.

Responding officers located at least two heavily damaged vehicles spread across several lanes, including a pickup truck and a dark-colored sedan. Debris covered the roadway as firefighters and paramedics assessed victims under flashing emergency lights. Despite life-saving efforts, two individuals were pronounced deceased at the scene. Additional motorists were evaluated for potential injuries, though authorities have not confirmed further details at this time.

CHP continues to analyze roadway evidence and witness statements to determine what led to the deadly chain of events.
