Everett, WA – Fatal I-5 Crash Involving Truck and Scooter Rider
Everett, WA (September 24, 2025) – A tragic crash on I-5 claimed the life of a 63-year-old Everett man early Wednesday morning, September 24. The accident occurred around 2:30 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-5, just south of State Route 526. According to the Washington State Patrol (WSP), the incident initially appeared to involve a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle near Everett Mall.
Later reports confirmed the crash was between a commercial box truck and a Vespa scooter. The scooter was found unoccupied on the left shoulder, while its rider was struck in the third lane by the truck. Authorities stated the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators have not yet determined why the victim was in the roadway before the collision. The truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement as troopers worked to reconstruct the crash. WSP continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
