Ferndale, WA – Multiple Crashes on I-5/Slater Rd Leave Non-Serious Injuries
Ferndale, WA (December 9, 2025) – Several multi-vehicle crashes along I-5 near the Slater Road interchange on Monday morning, December 8, left multiple people with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Washington State Patrol. The first collision was reported at approximately 8:40 a.m., involving a semi-truck with a trailer and a passenger van in the southbound lanes just north of Slater Road. Responding troopers confirmed that the semi had come to rest on the right shoulder while the passenger van stopped in the median. Medical personnel evaluated individuals from both vehicles, and early reports noted that all injuries were non-life-threatening
Around 9:15 a.m., only minutes after officials began clearing traffic, a second crash involving two jackknifed semi-trucks occurred beneath the Slater Road overpass in the northbound lanes. Both northbound lanes were confirmed blocked while responders worked to control the scene. A third collision followed nearby involving two passenger vehicles, compounding the congested traffic conditions. Trooper Kelsey Harding reported that despite multiple impacts, all three crashes were classified as non-serious injury incidents. The police are curently handling the investigations.
