Oceanside, CA – High-Speed Two-Vehicle Crash on I-5 S/Cannon Rd. Causes Injuries
Oceanside, CA (December 9, 2025) – A two-vehicle collision on Interstate 5 southbound near Cannon Road on Sunday night, December 8, prompted an ambulance response, according to CHP dispatch. The incident reportedly involved a black Ford Escape and a second unidentified vehicle, which witnesses stated may have been traveling over 100 mph at the time of impact.
The Ford was found sideways in the No. 2 lane with heavy damage, while the other vehicle was on the shoulder with major front-end damage. Officials reported fluid leakage across multiple lanes, prompting crews to request absorbent materials for safer clearance.
At least one victim sustained injuries requiring transport for advanced medical care, and CHP noted that another party complained of pain at the scene. The reckless driving factor remains under investigation as authorities work to identify contributing speed elements and responsibility for the crash.
