Fort Tejon, CA – I-5 S Collision Involving Semi Truck Results in Injuries
Fort Tejon, CA (January 11, 2026) – A collision involving a passenger vehicle and a semi-truck was reported on Interstate 5 southbound near Fort Tejon on Sunday, January 11. The California Highway Patrol stated that a silver Kia K5 was struck by a semi-truck under circumstances that remain under investigation. The impact left the Kia disabled in the center divider, creating a traffic hazard in the area.
Emergency medical services were dispatched after reports of possible injuries, and at least one individual complained of pain at the scene. The injured party was evaluated and transported to a nearby medical facility for further care. CHP officers attempted to locate the semi-truck, which reportedly left the scene and may have sustained damage to the left rear portion of its trailer.
Traffic was slowed while responders secured the area and removed debris. CHP continues efforts to identify the involved commercial vehicle.
