Capistrano Beach, CA – Two-Vehicle Crash on I-5 S Leaves Multiple Injuries
Capistrano Beach, CA (January 11, 2026) – A serious two-vehicle collision on Interstate 5 southbound near the Camino de Estrella off-ramp left multiple people injured on Sunday, January 11. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the crash occurred on January 11 and involved a white SUV and a second vehicle that had not been immediately identified.
Both vehicles overturned and came to rest on their roofs, with one positioned in the center divider and blocking multiple middle lanes. CHP officers reported that at least two occupants were trapped inside the overturned vehicles following the impact.
Fire and medical crews responded to the scene, and the injured parties were assessed before being transported to nearby medical facilities for further treatment. One vehicle was briefly reported to be smoking, though no active fire was confirmed. Traffic was heavily impacted while tow trucks worked to clear the wreckage.
