Fort Tejon, CA – Motorcycle-Vehicle Crash on I-5 S/Grapevine Rd Injures Rider

Fort Tejon, CA (January 7, 2026) – A vehicle-versus-motorcycle crash caused injuries on Wednesday morning, January 7, on I-5 southbound near Grapevine Road, according to CHP Bakersfield. The collision involved a white Honda Pilot and a motorcycle that reportedly merged into an occupied lane. The motorcyclist was initially left in active traffic lanes, creating a serious roadway hazard.

CHP officers and Kern County Fire Department units responded quickly to secure the scene. The rider sustained injuries and was evaluated by medical personnel before being transported to a nearby hospital. Traffic was temporarily slowed as vehicles were moved to the shoulder.
