Newhall, CA – Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-5 N/Magic Mountain Pkwy

Newhall, CA (January 7, 2026) – A fatal multi-vehicle collision shut down lanes of I-5 northbound south of Magic Mountain Parkway on Monday evening, January 5, according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash involved a semi-truck, an overturned box truck, and a Toyota Camry. Several lanes were blocked as vehicles came to rest sideways across the roadway.

Los Angeles County Fire Department crews and CHP officers responded, and one individual was pronounced deceased at the scene. The coroner was requested while investigators documented the crash. Traffic was diverted for several hours as tow trucks removed the wreckage. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
