Irvine, CA – Four-Car Collision on SB Santa Ana Fwy Results in Injuries
Irvine, CA (March 6, 2023) – A four-car collision on the southbound lanes of the Santa Ana Freeway resulted in injuries earlier today. The incident occurred at around 10:37 a.m. just north of I-405 and caused a complete blockage of all lanes.
According to the California Highway Patrol reports, the collision involved a black Toyota sedan, a white sedan, and a gray sedan, which were all blocking the lanes. A black Infiniti Q50 was also involved in the collision but had managed to move to the right shoulder closer to Bake Parkway.
The Fire Department and Freeway Service Patrol were already on the scene when the CHP responded to the incident at about 10:50 a.m. An ambulance was dispatched for 3 parties who reported injuries, and the CHP requested a flatbed tow truck to clear the accident site.
At around 11:16 a.m., the Metro Pro Irvine arrived on the scene with a flatbed tow truck, while the Orange County Motor Club came in with a second flatbed tow truck at 11:22 a.m.
The injuries incurred by those involved in the accident have not yet been disclosed, and the incident is still under investigation. We hope that the injured parties recover quickly from the accident.
