Los Angeles, CA – Drunk Driver Causes Injury Accident on NB 5 in Pacoima

Los Angeles, CA (March 6, 2023) – Several people were injured last night at around 7:50 p.m. in an accident on Northbound 5 near the Paxton St offramp in Pacoima.

According to eyewitnesses, a gray Lexus sedan rear-ended a white Nissan Altima, causing both vehicles to spin out of control and come to a stop in the middle of the road.

The victims in the Altima were seen getting out of their car, likely injured, and trying to assess the damage caused by the accident.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded to the incident at around 8:07 p.m. where they found the at-fault driver of the Lexus under the influence of alcohol and took them into custody.

The driver and passengers of the other vehicle complained of injuries, and an ambulance was called to the scene.

As the fire department and the CHP worked together to clear the debris on the road, Jon’s Towing helped remove the damaged vehicles. Luckily, no one was transported to the hospital, and the freeway was reopened soon after, according to the latest CHP update at 8:27 p.m.
