Los Angeles, CA – Hit-and-Run Crash on I-5/Garfield Ave. Leaves Multiple Injuries

Los Angeles, CA (September 1, 2025) – A multi-vehicle hit-and-run crash on Interstate 5 northbound near Garfield Avenue left multiple people injured on Monday, September 1. The California Highway Patrol arrived around 10:00 p.m. and confirmed that at least three vehicles were involved. Authorities reported that a gray or black BMW rear-ended a white Volkswagen, which then left the scene. A gray Hyundai SUV and another BMW SUV were also disabled in the collision, blocking lanes of traffic.

Paramedics assisted injured parties at the scene, and at least one individual was transported to a local hospital. Tow trucks were dispatched to remove multiple vehicles, with officers holding traffic while clearing the crash site. The accident caused significant delays as lanes one and two were blocked during the investigation. The CHP is actively searching for the driver who fled the scene.
