Los Angeles, CA – Injury Crash on I-5 S/S Lorena St.

Los Angeles, CA (January 27, 2026) – An injury-related traffic collision on Interstate 5 southbound near South Lorena Street led to an emergency response on Monday, January 26. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that the crash involved a black BMW 435i and a black Nissan Sentra.

Freeway Service Patrol and CHP officers responded after reports of a vehicle blocking Lane 1. One person initially declined medical assistance, while others were evaluated at the scene as a precaution. The vehicles were later moved off the freeway to reduce traffic hazards.

Tow trucks were dispatched to remove the damaged cars, and traffic was temporarily restricted as crews worked to clear the area. The roadway was reopened once the scene was secured. Authorities have not released information on the severity of injuries. CHP continues to document the incident.
