Los Angeles, CA – Three-Vehicle Crash on I-5 N/Garfield Ave. Leaves Injuries

Los Angeles, CA (September 17, 2025) – A three-vehicle crash on I-5 northbound near Garfield Avenue left multiple people injured on Wednesday evening, September 17, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officers reported arriving at the crash site around 7:45 p.m.  One person was evaluated for injuries on-site before being transported to a nearby hospital for further care. The exact number of injured parties has not been confirmed.

The crash blocked several lanes, forcing authorities to temporarily shut down traffic as ambulances and tow crews worked to assist victims and remove wrecked vehicles. Drivers in the area experienced significant delays during the late evening commute. Investigators are working to piece together the events that led to the multi-vehicle crash.

CHP has not yet confirmed an official cause.
