Los Angeles, CA – Two-Vehicle Crash on I-5 Near Slauson Ave. Causes Injuries
Los Angeles, CA (January 12, 2026) – A two-vehicle traffic collision on Interstate 5 North near the Slauson Avenue off-ramp resulted in injuries on Saturday, January 11, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The crash occurred in the northbound lanes just south of Slauson Avenue and involved two passenger vehicles, including a red Hyundai Elantra and another red vehicle.
CHP logs indicate the incident was initially reported as a collision with unknown injuries before being upgraded when an ambulance was requested. Officers with the California Highway Patrol responded to secure the scene while the Los Angeles County Fire Department provided medical assistance.
One person was evaluated at the scene for minor injuries. No life-threatening injuries were reported. The Freeway Service Patrol assisted with traffic control and debris removal, allowing all lanes to reopen shortly afterwards. Authorities have not released the identities of those involved. CHP continues to review the circumstances leading up to the collision.
