Los Angeles, CA – Two-Vehicle Crash on I-5 S/Whittier Blvd. Leaves Injuries

Los Angeles, CA (August 31, 2025) – On Sunday, August 31, a two-vehicle crash on I-5 South near Whittier Boulevard caused injuries in Central Los Angeles. CHP officers and the Freeway Service Patrol responded shortly after 5:45 p.m. Emergency personnel confirmed that both vehicles sustained heavy damage and required tow services to be separated and removed from the scene. At least one occupant was treated for injuries before being transported to a nearby hospital for further care. Traffic was impacted as crews worked to clear the crash site, but all lanes were eventually reopened later in the evening. CHP officers remained to gather statements from witnesses and investigate how the collision unfolded. Authorities are looking into what contributed to the wreck.
